Adventure Cat is a 47-foot catamaran that offers private chartered day trip sailing around southwest Florida waters or three-day trips to Dry Tortugas and/or Key West. The vessel will hold 12 guests plus crew. Some suggestions for day trips: Cabbage Key, Useppa Island, Cayo Costa, Marco Island, or a sunset cruise. Exhibits are devoted to shells in art and history, shell habitats, rare specimens, fossil shells and local Sanibel-Captiva shells. BIG Arts
Barrier Island Group for the Arts (BIG Arts), formed by a group of Sanibel artists in 1979, has grown to a three building complex including the 400 seat Schein Hall, classrooms, workshops, and an art gallery. Each year BIG Arts sponsors the Great Performers Series of musical events. 941-395-0900

Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (C.R.O.W.)3883 San-Cap Road. Non-profit veterinary hospital dedicated to rehabilitation and return to the wild of ill, injured and orphaned native wildlife. J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge
Effective Friday Sept. 21, through Friday, Oct. 12, Wildlife Drive at the Wildlife Refuge will be closed to ALL visitors. However, the 2.5 mile Indigo Trail will be open to hikers, although some sections may be under water.
On Oct. 13th, in celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Wee (Oct. 13-21), Wildlife Drive will re-open for all forms of visitation - vehicles, walkers, bicyclists, and tram tours. It will completely close again on Oct. 22 until further notice (likely sometime in December.)
During the closures, visitors will be able to see the refuge in a new light. Tarpon Bay Recreation's pontoon boat, the Estero Explorer, will provide narrated tours of the refuge from the waters of Pine Island Sound and Tarpon Bay. Costs of these tours will be $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 12 years old and younger. For more info and reservations call 941-472-8900.

Sanibel LighthouseEast end of Sanibel, public parking at the beach at east end of Periwinkle Way. First lit in August 1884. Since 1950, the U.S. Coast Guard property at the lighthouse has been a wildlife refuge.
Sanibel Historic Village & Museum is located at 950 Dunlop Road next to City Hall. The Village and Museum is closed until November.
